Have you ever wanted to work with silicone but are terrified to try? Is making your own resin earring moulds something you have wanted to do for some time but are not sure where to start? Maybe you have run into one of the many rookie errors with silicone and would like to learn how to create moulds from the ground up? Join us for our easter earring mould-making class!

No previous experience is required, we show you step by step what to do - roll solo and be placed together with other singles to meet new people or come as a group - the more the merrier!

TOTAL PRICE : $89

DEPOSIT PAYABLE TO BOOK : $64

In this class you will learn how to assemble a mould frame, how to place and secure your negatives, how to mix and pour silicone, how to ensure you create finding holes in your work (and how to remove bubbles) and how to remove your mould from the frame. You will leave with a freshly poured mould which will need to be taken home and sit for 2 days, you will then be able to remove it from the mould and use it to cast resin earrings.

Included in the price of all tickets on offer on the evening is:

- 1 set of acrylic earring pieces in your chosen design to keep and reuse to make more moulds later OR to assemble  and use as acrylic laser cut earrings (3 pairs of easter earrings with findings provided)

- 1 reusable earring mould frame to keep and use to again later to create more earring moulds.

- 1 mould that you will personally make using ArtSil liquid silicone which will produce 3 pairs of earrings (see styles here)

- Your Art class & teacher to guide you

- All the equipment and materials you will need for the class

- Dinner from the sip n dip menu

- a glass of wine

How dose the meal & class part work?

We eat first then we art after, on arrival you will order your meal enjoy and once everyone has concluded eating (approximately the first hour of your event) we kick off the art class! Hows the ticketing work?

You will pay a deposit to hold your spot, and finalise your payment on arrival at the venue at $25 a head which will cover your dinner and glass of wine. Full bar is available on-site if you wish to purchase further drinks.

CLASS FAQ

Travelling with your work

We recommend you rideshare to allow you to hold your work with both hands on the way home from the venue - your work needs to remain as level as possible and can not be left at the venue overnight (will need to be taken home). We suggest carpooling, travelling via uber, taxi or even public transport to ensure you can travel home holding your work level.

Age restrictions

We recommend students 16 and over for this class, younger students must be accompanied by a 1:1 supervisor and must read the SDS to make an informed decision as to the appropriateness of the use of chemicals by a minor.

Parking

There is plenty of parking available on-site.

What to wear to class?

Please wear old clothing, with long sleeves, you are attending an art class and should dress accordingly. Silicone once cured can be difficult to remove - we can not provide aprons at this time due to covid restrictions, therefore you should dress for art.

What PPE is used in this class?

You will use gloves and safety goggles.

What product is used in this class?

Liquid Silicone RTV (room-temperature-vulcanizing silicone) is a two-part system that can be mixed and poured into a mould. It cures at room temperature and can be used to create highly detailed resin art moulds. This is a Liquid Silicone Rubber, if you have allergies to either you can not participate in this class. To purchase ArtSil you can do so and click and collect for this class by adding notes into the check out here.

Can I pre-order a meal?

No, the venue provides a special discounted menu for Sip 'n' Dip Classes. If you have special dietary requirements you can contact them directly for the current seasonal menu. We do not keep a record of these at Sip 'n' Dip as they change often and because of the life-threatening nature of allergies. Please contact the venue direct via facebook to discuss any intolerances and options you have BEFORE booking, refunds will not be issued after the fact.

What happens if I can't make it?

You can find the terms and conditions here. For this class you will loose your deposit if you cancel within 7 days, if you provide more than 7 days notice we will provide you a DIY kit to take home and do on your own. Refunds do not apply.

What size is this class

Classes will vary between 10- 60 people depending on which class is most popular, we will simply send additional teachers as class numbers grow and break the classes down into smaller groups per teacher.
